Dr. John C. Maxwell traveled to Raleigh, N.C. on Jan. 21, 2017 to deliver The Alliance's keynote address at #GreatAmericanDreamMachine #NatCon17. Maxwell, a bestselling author and leadership coach, is no stranger to #TheAlliance.
Maxwell, the author of more than 75 books, has spoken at several national events and is a friend and mentor to Alliance president and CEO Andy Albright.
If you weren't in Raleigh, N.C., grab a pen and notepad to take notes while you listen to Maxwell speak about living an intentional life.
A successful life means extra grace will be required. From this moment on, be aware of what you are doing so that you can live an intentional life. Be intentional with your growth in all that you do. Don't just accept your life as it is today. If you just accept things, you will eat a lot of leftovers that other people toss to the side.
It takes more than luck to succeed. Everything worthwhile is going to be an uphill climb. That means uphill hopes and downhill habits.
An intentional life comes down to being deliberate, consistent and willfully.
When you are consistent, things start to compound for you. Now, you don't win an award after doing something for only seven days. It is a process and you have be willing to do it again and again, over and over, time after time.
What do you sing about? What do you cry about? What do you dream about?
Do these things every single day: Believe in people, value people and unconditionally love people.
Pay close attention to these areas of your life:
Personal growth and development
Leadership
Attitude
Significance
Take action to change your life. Most people are educated way beyond what is needed to take action. But do they take action?
How well you lead will determine how well you succeed.
Be aware of your PARTNERS
P - place your agenda above mine
A - add value to people
R - resource you with influence and tools, ideas and thinking
T - tailor my services to meet your needs
N - never violate trust
E - exceed expectations
R - respect the relationship and grow in it
Are you going to read your life story or write your life story? Too many people are watching life and not living it!
The Rule of 5 for significance
