In this episode, we uncover the riveting story of Holocaust survivor, Herman Haller. Despite enduring unimaginable events, he has managed to maintain a positive outlook on life. Along with his daughter Heidi, he joins us on the show to share his survival story of one of the worst atrocities committed in human history, the Holocaust.
Born in Berlin in 1924, Herman has lived through a time that most of us can only imagine through history books and movies. He has seen the worst of humanity, but through it all, he has never lost his faith in God and his belief in forgiveness.
Herman's story is one that needs to be told. He was only six years old when his parents divorced, and he hardly knew his father. His family was in the furniture business, and his mother was able to run the business with the help of her brother. Herman had a younger brother, and they lived a comfortable life until the rise of the Nazi party.
In 1933, when Hitler came to power, life changed for Herman and his family. They were Jewish, and they were no longer safe in Germany. They tried to leave the country, but it was too late. In 1942, Herman and his family were taken to a concentration camp.
He was determined to live and tell the world about what happened during the Holocaust. Today, he is a witness to history, and he is still fighting for justice and peace.
Herman's daughter, Heidi Cherry, is also a guest on the show. I’ve known her for many years, and I’m proud to have her on the show. Heidi knows that her father's story is one that needs to be heard!
