Guesst: Chase Crouse, author, founder and director of Hypuro Fit

Chase Crouse’s life took a pivotal turn in 2012 after experiencing a profound reversion to Catholicism. After two years of intense spiritual growth while a missionary with NET Ministries, Chase pursued both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biblical Theology before heading to New York City. In 2019, while working for the Archdiocese of New York, Chase moonlighted as a personal athletic trainer. He loved working with people at the gym, but hated not being able to talk about Jesus. Seeing a connection between St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, with its emphasis on self-mastery, and his knowledge of good fitness and nutrition, Chase combined them to create Hypuro Fit, a Catholic approach to fitness. Rather than focusing on achieving the perfect body, Hypuro Fit encourages members through practical and spiritual tips to reach attainable goals. The program offers two different options for users: one-on-one training or following a workout program through their app. With Dan Burke, one of his star pupils, Chase co-authored a book, The God of Endurance, which explains how your physical well-being actually helps energize your spiritual life and empowers you to offer a more complete self-gift to God and others.

Biography: Born to teenage parents who were nominally Catholic, Chase didn’t explore his faith until he went on a summer work camp in high school. Although he was named president of the youth group his senior year, partying was his main focus. Reading Matthew Kelly’s book, Rediscover Catholicism, after freshman year at Texas State University caught Chase off guard. Wondering where he’d end up if he died that night, Chase sought out his pastor and made his first confession in years. Shortly thereafter, Chase joined Net Ministries, where he ministered for two years in Canada and then received degrees in Biblical Theology from John Paul the Great Catholic University in San Diego, California. He and his wife live in Austin, Texas, with their four young children.
