Description

We wanted to try something different for this episode.

Instead of coming in with a topic or script, we asked ChatGPT to generate a list of questions based on our past conversations, what someone who’s been listening to Life of Flow might be curious about if they could sit down and ask us anything.

The result: a wide-ranging Q&A where we talk about mental prep before high-risk cases, the worst advice we got in training, what’s changed in how we use AI day-to-day, and the rituals that help us stay sharp. We also get into surgical routines, the importance of sleeping, T-CAR, and even the strange things our social media algorithms think we want after a long OR day.

🎧 If you’ve ever wondered what this work actually looks like behind the scenes, or wanted to ask us a few questions yourself, this one’s for you.

💡 Who Should Listen

This episode is for surgeons, residents, and anyone working in medicine who’s curious about what actually keeps us grounded in the middle of all this. It’s a look at the inner side of the job: how we think, reset, and keep showing up.

About Us

We’re Lucas M. Ferrer Cardona, MD and Dr. Miguel Montero-Baker, vascular surgeons and co-hosts of the Life of Flow Podcast. Each week, we share conversations about the habits, thinking, and decisions that shape the way we operate, inside and outside the OR.

Life of Flow has become a go-to podcast for high-performers across medicine, business, and beyond... people who are serious about leading with clarity, staying sharp under pressure, and doing meaningful work that lasts.

Our guests include surgeons, founders, therapists, and researchers from around the world. The goal is simple: real conversations with people who are doing the work, asking better questions, and building something worth showing up for.
