Description

On this episode of The Pastor In Training Podcast I am talking to my good friend, author and theologian Rick Lannoye We are talking about the doctrine of "worm theology" or basically the view of ourselves and humanity as unworthy of the love of God but only through the sacrifice of Jesus can God look at us and not see our sins. We believe that not only is that simply not true, it is absolutely in contradiction to the teaching and revelation of God in Jesus as presented in the Gospels. Human beings are created in the image of God. That means we are created in and by love, to love and be loved. Worm theology is very damaging to the developing psyche of a person and can create many long term psychological damage. As a Christian Universalist we hold to the view that ultimately all of humanity will be reconciled back to God because that love is unfailing and nothing can conquer it. Not even death. We believe that any sort of religious construct that denegrates our fellow human is blasphemous and heretical.
