For this week’s episode, I had the immense pleasure of interviewing Claudia Mckinstry. Claudia is an artist and teacher, and she’s had exhibitions around the world, including Russia and Japan. Not only is she an amazing painter, but she has also figured out how to teach high school using art, helped scores of young people graduate high school through a drop-out retrieval program which she founded, and truly knows how to find the brilliance in anyone.
We did this interview at her beautiful home on Bainbridge island, where she has an incredible garden, an airstream, an Artist’s Retreat house that she BUILT, and an actual caboose as one of her painting studios - wait for the story on that one later on in the episode. On my way home from this interview I was in tears because of how inspired I was; Claudia is so full of wisdom and I can’t wait for you to hear what she has to say.

And Claudia mentions in the episode that her daughter runs Studio Life, which you can check out if you live in the Seattle area. They run all kinds of workshops, from classes on making cocktails to tapestries: https://www.studiolifeseattle.com/
