Over the weekend, I devoured several Youtube videos that featured clinical psychologist Dr. Gary Brucato. Brucato is a well-known pundit that provides insights on high-profile crimes.

In one interview conducted after the arrest. Dr. Brucato asserts that the person responsible for the King Road murders was driven by his ego so much so that he enjoyed playing Puppet Master by misdirecting investigators.

Some examples:

Using his own car and bringing his phone - While a novice criminal might make these choices, one would think someone with a background in criminal justice and studying criminology would know choices like that could do him in. If Kohberger is the killer, could he have intentionally done these things so he/his lawyer could argue someone with his experience would never make such rudimentary mistakes?

Choosing a party house - Was the suspect’s choice of location made because he’d watched the premises and seen the constant flow of traffic in and out at all hours of the day and night? What better location than one where there would be a plethora of DNA and fingerprints?

Leaving the sheath behind - This is a controversial opinion, but I happen to think the suspect left the sheath behind on purpose. A K-Bar knife sheath might suggest a killer with a military background. We’ve yet to receive confirmation that the weapon used was a K-Bar. Could a different knife have been used, and the sheath meant to throw investigators on a wild goose chase for the wrong weapon?

The 4 Chan post - In one of his many interviews regarding the Idaho murders (minute 14:30), Dr. Brucato proffers that the suspect, in this case, would be throwing red herrings and posting things on the internet to throw off investigators. Before a suspect was arrested, three prominent personas - Pappa Rodger, Inside Looking, and Fratanon - appeared with an unsettling amount of information regarding the murders. Of the three, I believe only 4 Chan’s Fratanon could be the suspect based on the author’s attempt to misdirect and cast suspicion on the Sigma Chi fraternity brothers. In addition to that, the mention of a nineteen-minute door-to-door timeline from the frat house to King Road and back was too close to accurate for my liking.

I will talk more about this hypothesis in this week’s episode. If you think I missed something, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
