As you venture forward into your goals, you may feel the tug of time changing your perspective and adding new variations of goals. You may need to account for others’ needs in your life. Additions of stress and tension can feel as if it is taking over your personal experience to the point that your dreams are out of focus.
This podcast is a bold invitation for you to return to your dream chasing. Allow yourself to create space so you can hold your dream closer. At this time of the year, so many have dropped their New Year resolutions. You may have had to shift your aims to include a new jag that just happened. Whatever has come up for you, settle into this short outline about the necessity of bringing duality into the daily experience.
Equanimity means that we hold both sides of our life into focus. When things are real and complicated, we know that there is both negative and positive influences at play . It can present opportunities for new perspectives. Equanimity brings in a ray of absoluteness to offer all sides on which you may leverage new strength, awareness, and insight.
Inside this pod, I share about my personal journey of holding positivity into such a position that it became a defense mechanism so I could move forward in life. After experiencing traumas that required me to lean into positivity to cope and to survive, I was doing pretty well. However, I developed in a way where I could see that survival wasn’t really living.
It was through Insight Meditation at SF Insight that became aware of and cultivated equanimity in my experience. It has changed me in a way that I didn’t foresee. However, that is the brilliance of trusting the process and allowing yourself to transform when it is needed. It isn’t always easy, that is for sure. However, allowing space to hold equanimity has cleared the path for a new career, returning to the working world after so many years of being a mom and advocate for my kids, as well as discovering how I truly feel in my body.
I won’t spoil it all. Have a listen and let me know how this resonates with you! I would love to learn!
