Description

In this episode of Students of Aging, Jesse Cohoon sits down with Jeff Young, a retired high school teacher, artist, and member of WoodGreen’s Seniors Advisory Council, to explore Miksang photography. This contemplative practice encourages us to slow down, see the world with fresh eyes, and embrace creative expression as we age.

Jeff shares how his journey with Miksang has taken him from teaching drama to high school students to leading photography workshops across Ontario First Nations communities, Tanzania, and WoodGreen’s seniors’ programs. Through his work, participants, including older adults, stroke survivors, and those in shelters, have discovered new ways to express themselves and reconnect with their surroundings.

Join us as we explore how mindfulness and creativity can deepen our appreciation of aging, enhance well-being, and uncover beauty in the everyday.

Students of Aging is funded by the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Program.
