Tonight’s Entertainment Monday on the Inner Circle Podcast took an unexpected turn. Joined by my co-host Ms. B, we stepped completely off script as she led a powerful and emotional conversation around the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk. The weight of the moment, the divisive debates it has reignited, and the deep emotions it stirred could not be ignored. For 35 minutes, Ms. B poured her heart out before leaving to pick up her daughter, and I carried the rest of the show to its conclusion — but the focus never shifted.

In the midst of tragedy and heated division, I shared the words of Utah Governor Spencer Cox: tune down the temperature. Put down the devices. Find entertainment away from the chaos of social media. Go for a walk, spend time at the park, hug your neighbor, your kids, your friends. In his words, “Social media is a cancer” — and tonight’s episode was a call to step back, reflect, and choose compassion over conflict.

This was not the Entertainment Monday we planned, but maybe it was the one we needed.
