A neurologist has reported that a young Wade Wilson, a tattooed convicted murderer from Florida facing a potential death sentence or life imprisonment on Tuesday, once expressed to his adoptive parents that he believed he was going crazy.
Now 30 years old, Wilson was convicted of murdering Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43, within a few hours in October 2019. Alongside the two counts of first-degree murder, he was also found guilty of grand theft, battery, burglary, and petit theft related to these events.
During a Zoom disposition hearing on Monday, Dr. Mark Rubino testified that recent brain scans conducted on Wilson revealed signs of brain trauma, including impairment in short-term memory, as well as cognitive and emotional issues associated with psychiatric disorders.
In addition to the MRI, Rubino conducted a series of tests to assess Wilson, which proved to be challenging" due to the convict being restrained. He also engaged in a discussion with Wilson regarding his childhood, during which Wilson recounted that he was fine until around age 11, when he informed his parents that he thought he was going crazy.
