But what sparked her journey?
When asked what inspired her to dedicate her life to animal welfare, Varda shared how witnessing animal cruelty as a child deeply affected her. That moment ignited a passion to speak up for those who couldn’t. Over the years, she turned that passion into action, advocating for policies that protect animals and drive systemic change.
Through Samayu, Varda has worked to:
✅ Reform laws for better animal protection and welfare.

However, the challenges remain immense.
In this episode, Varda sheds light on the biggest issues facing animals today:
❌ Lack of Strong Laws – The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (1960) is outdated and ineffective.
❌ Factory Farming & Cruelty – Millions of animals suffer in factory farms with little to no welfare measures.
❌ Public Apathy – A lack of awareness and empathy worsens the plight of strays and farm animals.
Varda strongly believes that policy changes, public awareness, and grassroots activism are the key to solving these issues.
Varda emphasized that their biggest challenge is sustained funding and public support. Every day, Samayu fights for animals through research, advocacy, and grassroots action, but they can’t do it alone.
