Maria Figueroa, from Nuevo Laredo, began school in the U.S. at Cigarroa High where she learned English for the first time. Now in LC’s Honors Program, she’s preparing to graduate in December and transfer to TAMIU. Inspired by her teachers, she hopes to become an educator herself. In this interview, the questions are in English and Maria responds in Spanish.
