Do you ever get to the end of your day and realize you haven’t stopped once to just breathe? I used to live that way—racing from one thing to the next, pouring out in every direction, until I realized that skipping the pause was quietly costing me my peace.
I learned something a few years ago that completely shifted the way I lead, parent, and live. It’s called debriefing, and on the surface it sounds simple—like just another business tool. But it’s become one of the most powerful rhythms in my life.
When I first heard about debriefing through my coach at the SSI Agency, I thought it would just help me manage my salon better. What I didn’t expect was how deeply it would help me know myself better. Because debriefing isn’t just about reviewing what happened—it’s about creating awareness, compassion, and clarity in how you move through your days.
✨Here’s what I’ve learned through this small but mighty practice:
Awareness changes everything. The act of pausing long enough to reflect helps you shift from reacting to responding.
Debriefing builds self-leadership. It gives you ownership of your choices, your growth, and your energy.
Reflection without celebration feels heavy. Learning to celebrate—no matter how small—teaches your body that it’s safe to slow down.
It works in every area of life. You can debrief a business decision, a parenting moment, or even a hard conversation with someone you love.
Grace over perfection. The goal isn’t to critique yourself—it’s to notice, learn, and move forward with intention.

🪞Your Turn
This week’s reflection: Where in your life could a daily or weekly debrief bring more peace and clarity?
Try this tonight: Ask yourself—What didn’t work? What worked? What will I change? What will I duplicate? How can I celebrate?
You might be surprised how quickly the pause brings you home to yourself.
