You know the saying "one bad apple ruins the whole basket." Well it is true.
I am always amazed how long companies hold onto toxic team members. Their 'rottenness' spread throughout your team and organization and completely damages and undermines the good in your workplace culture.
Once you have defined they are in the right role, clear on expectations, given guidance, support, feedback and specific development and they are still failing and showing up disengaged, negative, toxic...then, what are you waiting for. No regrets when you terminate a toxic employee. Your team will thank you when you do AND you are putting up the boundaries of what right looks like in your culture.
I know it is hard to let go of employees in today's market but if you keep and tolerate toxic, you WILL lose other good employees while keeping that one bad apple. Just sayin...
