Gaylen N. Chandler was sustained and set apart as the Stake President of the Wichita Kansas Stake on February 12, 2017. He served as a missionary in the Uruguay Montevideo and Paraguay Asunción missions. Prior to this call, he served as a Stake Mission President, Scoutmaster, Counselor in the Bishopric, Bishop, High Councilor, and Counselor in the Stake Presidency.
President Chandler was born on September 11, 1956 in Lehi, Utah and raised in Rupert, Idaho. He married Susan Butler on June 21, 1978 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. They are the parents of six children and have twelve grandchildren.
President Chandler has an undergraduate degree in business from BYU, and MBA and PhD degrees from the University of Utah. He has been a business school professor for 35 years.
