Kristen Bailey grew up in South Jordan, Utah, surrounded by the love of her parents and two siblings. Even though not all of her family members were active in the Church, Kristen developed a deep and abiding love for the gospel of Jesus Christ at a young age. Her parents, especially her mother, supported her in her faith—making sure she attended church each Sunday and occasionally staying with her during meetings.
After high school, Kristen felt a strong desire to serve a mission. Her mother even guessed correctly where she might be called. Kristen received her assignment to serve in the Nauvoo, Illinois Visitors’ Center, which included Carthage, and later spent eight months in the Georgia Atlanta North Mission. Her mission became a defining experience, strengthening her testimony of the Restoration, her love for the Savior, and her understanding of Heavenly Father’s love for all His children.
When she returned home, Kristen pursued her education—first at BYU–Idaho and then at Wichita State University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. She moved to Kansas to date her best friend, Jason, and their friendship grew into something eternal. On July 29, 2006, they were sealed in the Nauvoo Temple. After years of waiting and struggling with infertility, they were joyfully blessed with twin daughters, who have been a source of light and happiness ever since.
Motherhood has brought Kristen immense joy. She worked part-time from home while raising her girls, and in those early years, she was deeply grateful for the love and support of family, friends, and ward members who eagerly helped with two newborns. Eventually, she chose to become a full-time stay-at-home mom, cherishing the chance to watch her daughters grow. Now that they are in middle school, she has returned to working part-time as a graphic designer outside the home.
In addition to her love for family and faith, Kristen enjoys riding her bike along the river, playing games with her family, camping, and spending time outdoors. She also has a creative spirit, often finding joy in painting and other artistic projects.
Throughout her life, Kristen has remained steadfast in her love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. She has served in many callings—including Young Women, Relief Society, and Primary—and finds special joy in ministering. For her, one of life’s greatest blessings is the opportunity to love, serve, and befriend those in her ward family.
