As May is AANHPI Heritage Month, Episode 12 goes over all the anti-Asian events that happened over social media the week before AANHPI Heritage Month started. Including the incident with the 3 Italian girls laughing at the Chinese mother and son on the train in Italy after mocking them saying "ni hao" multiple times. Or the Asian woman in the UK (itsgnochgnoch) who ranted about a ride-share driver who told her that "All Asians Look the Same". Ed and Susie also debate the responsibility of content creators who expose ignorant behavior and to the extent their content affects other people outside of the intended offenders. For instance, when Susie asked an innocent question about British Chinese Food asking people to not send hate to the original creators she was referencing but people sent them hate anyways. What is the level of responsibility? While on the topic, Susie and Ed talk about the controversy over British Chinese Food while questioning the level of gaslighting they both experienced trying to learn more about why Chinese or Indian takeout is referred to as "a Chinese" or "an Indian".
