This is the recording for the Creative Abundance Masterclass I taught on Friday January 16th. In it I told my story of how I went from being a stay at home mother of four with no following to an artist who literally can’t paint fast enough to meet demand. Behind this growth were some key Mindset shifts that I want everyone to know about. This covers yourself, your business, and your general outlook on life.
- Prioritize your Mindset by listening to an hour of positive mindset content every day. Every time something big has happened for me, I was consuming positivity like this while doing my chores. You are what you consume when it comes to mindset.
- Limit Negative inputs. Avoid talking to negative people and avoid sources of negativity such as the news.
- Know that abundance is here for you. It is flowing in and amongst everything. It is merely a matter of getting tuned into it to be able to perceive the opportunities that are all around you.
- Success comes from alignment. When you are aligned with what you truly love to do, it doesn’t feel like work. This is true in business too. The key is to get aligned with the idea that business can be creative and fun.
- Business is best approached with a Beginner’s Mind. Approach it with curiosity, in the spirit of play, and with no expectations
- Business is about forming a connection with another person and exchanging value. You create something authentically from your heart, clearly communicate what it gives to people, and exchange it with someone who loves it and wants to give you money and gratitude in return. That’s it.
- What other people receive from your art is often a little different than what you think you are putting in. That’s okay. It is your job to find out what that is and align your messaging with it.
- Create a Mindset routine first thing in the morning to fill your cup. Aim to start focusing on positive aspects within the first five minutes of being awake. Meditation, Gratitude journaling, Yoga, etc are all great. When your cup is full and overflowing, everyone else feasts on the overflow.
- Whatever you bring your attention to expands. Focus on the negative, you get more of it, focus on the positive and you get more of it.
- To pivot off of a negative thought, shift your focus to what you WANT out of the situation. Allow yourself to get lost in the fantasy of what it will be like when you get what you WANT. This forms a pathway in your mind that starts the process of getting there. The relief you feel how you know it’s already starting to work.
- Dreaming is key. You’ve got to return the innocent childlike practice of dreaming with no negative thought attached. Just allow it to be a beautiful fantasy. This is important for manifestation.
- Comparison is just a sign that you are out of alignment. When you are aligned, you know you are playing your own game.
- Resistance happens with both art and sales. This is natural.
- Sales is just about people skills and relationships. Sales are a symptom of connection. The more connected you are to people, the more sales naturally occur. Sales is about giving value through kindness, connection, and helping people find what they need.
- Knowing that your work is valuable and that you are valuable is key. Artists are like magicians. Your skills are easy to you but they mystify others.
- Imposter syndrome is simply when your external accomplishments surpass your idea of yourself. The main way to solve imposter syndrome is to really enjoy your wins.
To help you implement all this stuff and keep you on track, I’ve created the Creative Abundance Circle, a weekly coaching group. We meet for 90 minutes a week in an intimate, supportive small group environment. If you join before Friday Jan 24th, you can join for 50% off for just $97 down from $200 per month.
