CHAPTER 14
Journaling Recommendation
1. List each person in your past or present who has contributed to or reinforced your belief that you have a problem or are the problem.
2. Next to each person's name, list the specific phrases or messages they spoke to you that conveyed this message.
3. Now list next to each of those names and statements how each one made you feel.
4. Now write down all of the feelings you are feeling. right now, as you think about these people, events, and concomitant feelings.
5. Write a letter or email to each of these people, expressing in the strongest terms possible precisely how you feel. Don't hit 'send' or attach a stamp and put in the mailbox. The purpose of the exercise is to flush out the feelings.
6. Which of these people are still in your life?
7. Is it time to start cutting them out of your life, or at least start radically cutting back their impact and influence in your life?
8. Are you ready? Do you have the courage to do so?
9. Can you see the need for doing so?
