I am your host Emma, and today I will be interviewing Zakriya Bashir-Hill.
Zakriya Bashir-Hill is an audio engineer, music producer, videographer, photographer, and multi-instrumentalist based out of Toronto, ON, Canada. Originally hailing from Massachusetts, U.S.A. he got his start as a bassist in various musical theater productions in the San Francisco Bay Area before returning to Boston to study Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music. There, he began to develop his own unique style of arranging and production, based around the aesthetics and values of modern and postmodern musical theater. He went on to pursue audio engineering and multimedia, earning his degree in Music Technology and Digital Media at the University of Toronto in 2023.
