PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN FRANCHISE MARATHON
Welcome to Pirates of the Cannibal Holocaust.
Rhys and Kane tackle the second installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, in this episode of the podcast; both in awe of the film's visual style and effective follow up to the first film. Rhys' heart is played with here, as the film reels him into the franchise, teasing love and attempting to convince him that he may be in for a 5-movie-long ride that he's going to love; whilst Kane is still quite adamant that it doesn't compare to the original.
Dead Man's chest masterfully introduces the legend that is Davey Jones, The Kraken, and the Flying Dutchman; providing the series with a much darker gothic tone, that both of the boys find to be a welcome addition to the franchise. But with so much seemingly going for it, does it satisfy?
