Previously on... Evan Gold is a private detective in Athens, Kansas. His head is swimming after the strange events of the night - his partner is murdered, the widow and the police name him suspect number one in the murders of last night, and Evan needs to track down the woman who might be the last person his partner saw alive.
Meanwhile, an odd man named Harold Huber has threatened Evan at gunpoint to locate a Pearl of Mysterious Qualities. Evan knocked Harold out and needs to discover more about what Harold is all about. Is there any connection between the pearl, the murders, and the truth?
