Description

This week we are talking about a subject that makes a lot of people uncomfortable: depression. Depression is a serious condition that negatively affects how a person things. It's more than being sad. As a person who has suffered from depression, my hope is to put the topic out there and make it feel less taboo.

My guest this week is Michelle Agrela Wilson, who is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. We discussed coping mechanisms to help with depression and what Michelle does when she has a "resistant" patient. Michelle's approach is very straight forward and honest and she admits "she is not always everyone's cup of tea" which is okay, but she will always be honest and work with you. Michelle works mainly with younger kids and teenagers and she helps shape how they think about things. She teaches these children self love, which is something I think we all need help with.

We all have a different view on depression, but if you feel that you are struggling, Michelle and I want to encourage you to seek help. It's a fearless move to ask for help and we all need it sometimes!
