Danyell Souza is the lead vocalist of Dead Posey. Dead Posey formed in Los Angeles in the 2010s by Danyell and Tony Nova, tackles themes like sexism, oppression, and religious dogma with angst-driven guitars and vocal howls. Their music blends goth spirit, punk rebellion, ’80s synth-pop, and ’90s alt-rock. Souza, who was working as an actor, model, and gogo dancer to make ends meet, found her calling when she first sang in Nova’s studio to Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.” From that moment, she knew music was her true passion. Dead Posey’s electrifying originals like “Welcome To The Nightmare” and “She Went Bad,” alongside covers of New Order’s “Blue Monday” and Depeche Mode’s “Never Let Me Down Again,” have earned them critical acclaim. With just three EPs, they’ve gained over 50 million streams, and been featured at major festivals like Download and Mad Cool, with their music also appearing in TV shows and films like Lucifer, Teen Wolf, and Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger. In October, they released their debut LP, Are You In A Cult?, exploring dark societal themes that continue to inspire their work.#deadposey #metalqueen #metalfans #femalefrontedrock #femalemetal #femalemetalsinger #metalmusic #metal #thedeadposeysociety
