Description

It's May first, and on this day in 1967, Elvis Presley married Priscilla Beaulieu in a private ceremony at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The day began in the early hours, with Elvis and Priscilla obtaining their marriage license at 3:30 a.m. from the Clark County Courthouse for just fifteen dollars. Afterward, they were whisked away in limousines to the Aladdin Hotel, where the couple was sequestered in a private suite.

At 9:41 a.m., in an intimate eight-minute ceremony, Elvis and Priscilla were married by Judge David Zenoff of the Nevada Supreme Court. Joe Esposito and Marty Lacker stood as Elvis's best men. Following the ceremony, the couple held a reception and press conference, marking a monumental personal milestone in Elvis's life.

Despite a few tensions behind the scenes—most notably the exclusion of Red West from the ceremony, leading to a two-year estrangement from Elvis—this day stands out as a defining moment in both Elvis's personal and public life.
