. I was walking down Broadway this morning and stayed a MOEO on the run podcast about what I’ve been thinking about lately. About suffering, pain and how we deal with it. And then just out of nowhere this man is walking down 52nd St. And runs right into me in the intersection. It’s 8 o’clock in the morning. He’s got a cup full of beer and smells of alcohol and he just breaks down and starts sharing with me about the pain and suffering in his life. It was an amazing opportunity. God placed us there for a reason! I got to stand and talk to him and just be there for him. And LISTEN to him. Right after that I walked about a block and ran into my friend Ben. We started talking about what happened and then he started telling me about a similar situation in his life. Then it just dawned on me that I started off this talk about suffering, but I think the lesson that God was teaching me today as I was walking is that we were meant to show up for people. I could’ve very easily just ran away from Darren not wanted to deal with it but I chose to stop and show up. I couldn’t fix his problem, but I could show up and be there with it. So the mantra today as you walk in your life and face suffering around you is to say to yourself “I will show up!”
