We've seen SOOOOOOOO much in the news, on social media, on the radio - news of police officers killing Black men and recently a woman, Ms. Breonna Taylor. We seem to see more now than ever before. Information sharing has placed this in all of our faces. As Black people it may feel differently to us to see this OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. How does the sight of these things affect us mentally??
PLEASE TAKE THE COUCH WITH ME as I discuss this topic with an attorney, the President of the TD Riddick Bar Association, Esquire Ashley Gantt, and two mental health professionals - Dr. Veronica Johnson, psychologist in private practice in Harlem, NY, and Mr. Dre Johnson, school social worker. We discuss all of the MENTAL HEALTH IMPLICATIONS OF RACISM. You will also hear me define: Imposter Phenomenon, prejudice, discrimination along with many other terms such as racial traumas.
I know it's a challenge that we endure as Black folk in America but the more knowledge you have the less uncertainty, and thus anxiety, you feel.
LET'S EMPOWER OURSELVES! Black Power y'all!
