At the time of this interview, Dr. Johnson is 65 years old and Hyatt describes him as very pleasant and knowledgeable. In the following interview, Dr. Johnson provides us with a wealth of not only magickal but medicinal uses for roots and herbs.
Dr. Johnson’s interview is not only important from a magickal, medicinal, or folklorist point of view, Dr. Johnson represents a fractured portion of American history that often has no voice, the Black American Indian. Dr. John describes himself as being the son of a chief of the red nation from what is now Oklahoma.
