Description

We've all heard about this crazy phenomenon, we've even named our whole podcast after it! But what is baby brain? Is it scientifically proven and who does it affect?

This week we interview Winnie who is studying her PHD at The Turner Institute of Brain and Mental Health at Monash University. Winnie and her team are currently conducting a study on "baby brain" and the cognitive effects that having babies may have on your brain in the 2 year period postpartum. The study is looking at how this affects not only birth mothers, but also fathers, other parenting figures and carers too.

This is a great episode full of interesting information, scientifically backed studies and what happens to your brain during pregnancy and postpartum!

Winnie and her team at Monash University are currently looking for participants to be involved in their study. Anyone can take part ( if you have kids or no kid) except for pregnant women unfortunately! The study is online and will only take 1 hour of your time. Please sign up by emailing parenthood.study@monash.edu asking for the study information. You can also follow the study and Winnie on instagram at @babybrain.research

This podcast is for parents, soon to be parents, wanting to be parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cats, dogs and anyone else who cares to listen.

We don't know what we're doing but let's work it out together - come and join our village!
