Greetings and Welcome back to another episode of "TRU CHAT"...A Community Podcast, a MejIMusyK Production. I Am your host JoY of JoYful soundZ and this is episode 12... we made it to episode 12. This episode was supposed to be the last episode of TRU CHAT for the season, but due to the volume of listeners, we are going to keep the stories coming. There is nothing more vital than for our community to have a voice during these times (social distancing). This Journey has been most satisfying to our guest as well as myself. It has afforded us all to heal from others experiences and making it so that some of us do not have to have such experiences, especially those surrounding violence, pain, and suffering.
The common theme you will hear mentioned across this week's episode entitled "Spirit In Action," is SPIRIT! A continuation of episode 7's "Englewood's Individual Expression of Spirituality." You will hear a story from one of our returning guest, Ms. Brittany Simms, and our featured interview with pastor Willie Johnson, president of Moran Park Advisory Committee (Deemed the hottest spot in Chicago...let-alone, Englewood). Again, listen for the accountability taken by Moran PAC, supporting residents, community leaders, and organizations of Englewood, as they come together to be the change they want to see here in Englewood in the midst of heavy violence (In the belly of the beast).
