On today’s episode, I’m chatting to CEO and founder of Goss.ie. Stepping on to the stage at age six, this week’s guest has been in love with the glitz and glam of the entertainment world for as long as she can remember. Religiously watching award shows, she could’ve never imagined a few years down the line she’d be hosting her very own version in Dublin’s Mansion House and sitting shoulder to shoulder with celebs and media moguls alike. Having an immediate knack for journalism, it was no surprise the ambitious young entrepreneur spent her early twenties taking the Irish industry by storm, winning Showbiz Journalist of the Year at just 22 years old. Working for the Herald, presenting a slot on Xposé and writing features at the Mail on Sunday, it was after being denied an editor position in 2014 that she took a leap of faith and launched her very own entertainment news outlet, Goss.ie. Sharing her thoughts on the harshness of the industry, the secret to her success and gender inequality in business, here’s what it’s like to be Alexandra Ryan.
