On today’s episode, I’m chatting to one of Ireland’s favourite DJ’s and radio hosts. Tuning in to a show whilst studying one day, this week’s guest knew he had a love for broadcast from the moment he heard it. Calling up his local station asking for a slot soon led to numerous opportunities that would shape the stellar resume he’s created thus far. Working at stations such as Beat, Spin 1038 and Spin SouthWest, he spent many years stretching himself seven days a week between the radio booth and nightclubs and festivals where he made a real go at his other passion - DJing. Now almost ten years into his career and having managed to strike the perfect balance between performing at venues and hosting shows on Spin, here’s what it’s like to be Marty Guilfoyle.
