This is a way to pray the Lord’s Prayer for someone you love. As many people wiser than me have noted, all prayer has a place within the Lord’s Prayer, so there are many other ways you could do this. You could pray for many things inside a single petition. The Lord’s Prayer is found in the gospel of Matthew, chapter 6, verses 9-13.
My example prayer is for Anthony, a man I met at a coffee shop in June of 2025.
Transcript:
Father, I pray for Anthony, may he know you as his father today. May he hallow your name. He celebrate who you are and revere you. May your kingdom come in his life. May He live as an agent of your kingdom today. May he see and trust the goodness and the wisdom of your will. and may your will be done in his life. Give him his daily bread, forgive him all his sins as He forgives all of the sins. that others do to him. Lead him not into temptation and trials, but deliver him from evil. Amen.
