Pastor Somkong Vong, lovingly known by others as Kong, is a survivor. A child of refugees, Kong obtained a college degree and is a math teach at East Des Moines High School, in Des Moines, Iowa. She also serves as pastor of Lifesong Church in Des Moines, a predominantly Asian body of Open Bible believers. Kong’s life as high school teacher and pastor was full enough, but then cancer attacked her body. Rather than being discouraged Kong has kept her head high, her smile humbly beaming, and her gentle testimony for Christ genuine.
