From the very beginning, Ever After Music Fest (EAMF) in Kitchener, Ontario has been a landmark event for bass heads from around the world. It combines top headliners, underground artists, and upcoming talent in a unique setting with a stellar sound system to deliver quality year after year.
What's super cool about Ever After Music Festival is that it is an event that is run by a family-owned company primarily getting its revenue from ticket sales. Unfortunately, the 3-day festival was canceled last year due to COVID-19.
I caught up with Gabriel Mattacchione at the end of September last year that is part of a larger story piece I am making in collaboration with Radio Western on the impact of the pandemic on the music industry. Stay tuned for that!
My conversation here with Gabriel is a raw and real interview where we go into the festival's origins, how they've carved out a niche, and strategies for handling this crisis of a pandemic. Even from having worked in the entertainment sector for years, I still found this a really interesting conversation and I learned a lot, giving me more respect for Gabriel and his team to run such a big event. So I hope you enjoy it.
