Can Jesus really heal? Scripture teaches us that He has and that healing continues to be an active role in the ministry of the Holy Spirit to this day. In the case of the bleeding woman, she had suffered this ailment for twelve years. It cost her everything she had, and in spite of all the wisdom of the doctors of the age, she still suffered and did not get well. It wasn’t until this woman made a courageous, faith-filled step to reach out and touch the hem of Jesus’ garment that she experienced the healing power of Jesus firsthand. Why does God heal some and not others? What about modern-day medicine? Are there any commonalities found within examples in Scripture where people are healed (laying on of hands, anointing with oil, prayer…)?
