Jesus promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to his people, a new covenant paradigm in which the presence of God would now reside in the lives of believers and empower them for the gospel mission. Acts 2:41-47 is a snapshot what this Holy Spirit indwelled and empowered people looked like. A people whose lives were so radically changed by the message of salvation through Jesus and the promise of his Spirit that they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship. When people saw this gospel-centered community in action, they saw Jesus. "And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
