Description

Today, I talk about how words can harm, even when we mean well. Saying “you look great” after someone loses weight can sound kind, but we don’t know what’s behind that change. It could be grief, stress, or illness. I share my own story of being praised when I was sick and how those words fed my eating disorder.

We also look at why before-and-after photos and beauty filters feed toxic diet culture and how we can talk about people’s energy, kindness, or courage instead of their looks.
