On a clear fall night, my dad would get out a ladder and help us children to climb on the roof of our home. There above the lights of man’s design, we were able to see more clearly the beauty of the stars.
As we lay there, dad would try to help us find different constellations, and then he would use the opportunity to teach us about the faithfulness of the Lord. These moments helped to build and shape our young child-like faith in the Lord of all creation.
The Bible says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
De Witt Talmage wrote, “You often find in a book…a star calling your attention to a footnote… That star the printer calls an asterisk. …all the stars of the night-heaven are asterisks, calling your attention to God…”
