This week, Drewby and Yergy discuss the case of 7-week-old A'mir Griffin of Warren, a suburb of Detroit, who starved to death at the hands of his mother, Shantavia Hayden. While Shantavia received benefits from unemployment, state assistance, food stamps, and WIC, she used them to buy drugs rather than to feed her newborn.
