The issues of climate refugees and the right to human mobility have taken a backseat as war, oil prices and inflation dominate the news cycle. Global North countries have differentiated treatment of refugees guided by geopolitical interest rather than human rights. Human mobility due to climate change or socio-economic reasons has been erased by the media and politicians.
We talked with Amali Tower from Climate Refugees about the differentiated treatment that refugees have been suffering due to a lack of human rights approach to human mobility. From Ukraine to Central America, we discussed the need to ensure human rights and avoid discrimination.
