John's acting career started in Chicago in 1980 taking classes at Wisdom Bridge Theater under the guidance of Edward Kaye-Martin. He moved to Los Angeles in 1983 to begin his Hollywood career. John landed his most memorable audition for a film "Chattanooga Choo Cho" in which he landed a co-starring role, but most importantly it is where he met his future bride, Vicki who was working as a casting assistant at the time. John has appeared on Murder She Wrote, Family Ties, Hotel, Hunter and many others prime-time series. In 1987, he got his first big break on the Fox-TV series, "Werewolf."
John and Vicki married in 1986 and in 1991, the same year he landed the part of Mac, they gave birth to their only daughter Schyler. Today John and Vicki are the proud grandparents to Elijah Gabrielle and Lucille Jane.
