On this episode of TEN, we’re joined by Sonja Kirksey, STEM Director at CUES Catholic School System.
Sonja oversees a project-based STEM program reaching nearly 200 students across three middle schools, bringing 3D printing, coding, neuroscience, and more directly into the classroom. She shares how hands-on exposure to technology is inspiring students and how business leaders can play a role through workshops, field trips, and mentorship.
Sonja was also a representative at the Tech Community Resource Fair during the inaugural Nebraska Women in Tech Summit at Kiewit La Vista, where she highlighted the STEM training she provides to students and opportunities for members of our business community to give back. We explore that work in this episode and why it matters for Nebraska’s future tech talent.
Tune in to hear how Sonja is helping students discover what’s possible in STEM—and what role the community can play in supporting their journey.
