Description

Jade shares her experiences taking Spironolactone, an anti-androgen often prescribed to women for hair loss. She specifically discusses serious and permanent side effects she now sufferers from as a result of taking the drug, to include physical, neurological and sexual side effects. The disease is very similar to Post-Finasteride Syndrome, or”PFS”.“

PFS” is often used as an all encompassing term for a disease that essentially disrupts the endocrine system, and can be caused by various drugs or supplements - typically 5α-Reductase inhibitors or some type of anti-androgen. Spironolactone, which she did take, is a low-level 5α-Reductase inhibitor.

It’s important to highlight these commonalities with these drugs. A more appropriate, universal term is “Post Endocrine Disruption Syndrome.”Jade is our first female patient that’s been featured on this channel. Her courage is incredibly inspiring, and I hope to see more women share their stories on this channel in the future. This disease does not just affect men. Finasteride, Dutasteride, and Spironolactone are now being commonly prescribed to women for hair loss, and I have personally spoken to several women that are now permanently damaged by these drugs. Please continue building awareness for these drug-induced diseases and show the world that we will not be silenced. Thank you for sharing your story, Jade. You are not alone, and your courage will help save lives, advance awareness, and have a lasting impact.

PFS has a disastrous impact on patients, their families, and their friends. It often leads to disability, isolation, and even suicide. Every person is valuable, and everyone deserves to make a fully informed choice about their health.More research into Post-Finasteride Syndrome is desperately needed.
