It’s not often we hear a story about how the pandemic proved to be the catalyst for a food service business. But that helped launch rapid growth for Rent-A-Chef, the mobile food vendor and catering company owned by Heather Rainey and her husband, Matthew. The couple got started part-time after catering a wedding for a coworker. But the phone started ringing after COVID shut down restaurants, and their clients still wanted to celebrate in their homes.
