Doesn’t matter whether you’re writing fiction, memoirs, children’s books,poetry, ghost stories…
The audiobook world is exploding.
People are listening in their cars, on walks, at the gym, at work — everywhere.

So if you’ve ever thought about turning your writing into spokenstorytelling, today I’m gonna walk you through exactly how to createyour audiobook from start to finish.

So relax, kick back, get your coffee — and let’s get into it.

(Music dips to soft background.)

🎧 STEP 1 — WRITE LIKEA VOICE SPEAKING

Writing for an audiobook is not the same as writing for a book.
On a page, the eyes can skim, go back, or rest.
But in audio — the listener follows your voice.

So you want to write like you’re talking to one person.

Not an audience.
Not a crowd.
One listener.
One friend.

Use:

Your voice becomes the page.

🎙 STEP 2 — DECIDE WHONARRATES

You have three choices:

Option

Best For

Notes

You narrate

Memoir, personal storytelling, authenticity

Your voice = your truth

A voice actor narrates

Fiction, characters, drama, fantasy

Performance + emotion

AI-enhanced narration (11 Labs)

Meditation, calm stories, atmospheric guides

Good for tone + consistency

If the story is yours — your voice is the anchor.
People will feel it.

🏠 STEP 3 — SET UP ASIMPLE RECORDING ENVIRONMENT

You do not need a studio.
You need:

Turn off fans.
Turn off AC.
Close the door.
Blankets kill echo.
Simple is professional.

🎤 STEP 4 — RECORD INSECTIONS, NOT ALL AT ONCE

Don’t read the whole book straight through.
Record chapter by chapter, and even break each chapter into scenes.

This helps:

If you stumble?
Just pause, breathe, and start the sentence again.
We fix it in editing.

🎛 STEP 5 — EDITING& POLISHING

Using Adobe Audition, we do 3 things:

This is where your narration becomes a listening experience.

🎨 STEP 6 — ADD SUBTLEATMOSPHERE (OPTIONAL)

This is where you can create cinema in sound.

For example:

Not loud.
Not dramatic.
Just enough to set mood and breath.

This is what turns a book into a world.

🎧 STEP 7 — EXPORT& PUBLISH

Your finished audiobook can go to:
