“Jazz is music at the speed of conversation,” says Charlene Diehl, Producer of the Izzy Asper Jazz Performance series. Improvisation is at the heart of jazz, which meansthat no two performances, even of the same songs, are the same way twice.
The Jazz series at the Rady JCC’s Berney Theatre begins on Saturday, October 5th, which is the upcoming weekend when this episode of the podcast airs. Today Chrisis joined by Laura Marjovsky, Program Director of the Rady JCC in the podcast booth to discuss Benny Benack III, Jocelyn Gould, and the exquisite performances that we’re looking forward to this Fall and Spring.
