Gentry, the Director of Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Dodge City, first began noticing God’s quiet direction when baseball, a sport he loved, ended in an injury. It was a shift that opened space for deeper questions and a growing attentiveness to God’s voice.

That path eventually led him into discernment and to one unforgettable moment of clarity from his spiritual director: “You are an idiot, you should propose to that girl.” From that blunt grace came a vocation rooted in the daily, sanctifying work of Catholic family life of raising five children, learning love through sacrifice, and discovering how God forms us in ordinary moments.

Those lived lessons now shape his ministry as he ministers to young adults seeking the same peace and direction he once searched for.
