In todays podcast, we touch on what it means to back up or discount our own desires, needs and wants in order to keep the peace. Where does this constant backing up come from and how we can start to get ourselves out of it. Living a life of constantly discounting ourselves to allow others to feel good leads to a self-loathing and victum role instead of loving ourselves AND loving others. We end up taking a backseat in order to look like a "good girl" or "nice guy" instead of understanding that the second greatest commandment and applying it to our lives; "love your nightbor AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF!" (emphasis mine!)
Let's take a look at how we can learn to recognize this twisted up behavior and learn to love ourselves SO THAT we can love others as well!
Mentioned within the podcast is the book Boundries by Dr's John Townsend and Henery Cloud.
